Outlook festival “ celebrates soundsystem culture”, in other terms, bass music. The line up is mainly rap but not only, it’s quite varied with Hip Hop, Soul, R&B, Electro and more. It takes place since 2018 in Pula, Croatia, a beautiful city in the North of this SouthEastern European country. Pula is recognized for its beautiful beaches and well preserved Roman ruins. Outlook Festival does not disappoint by combining a great line up with this location’s strengths to make the experience unique. The festival, that takes place from the 5th til the 10th of September has various stages, prepare to experience beach, boats and underground parties all in one package !
2018 marks the 11th edition of Outlook, thus, to honor this incredible journey here are the 8 acts you don’t want to miss out on !

- Ocean Wisdom
The first act you really can’t miss is Ocean Wisdom. The British rapper was born in Camden, London but raised in Brighton. He stayed quite unknown for years, but when his debut song Walkin’ released, he gained national and international fame. The song, made with Dirty Dike even beated the world record for most words in a second by a rapper, previously held by the American rapper Eminem. On 22/02/16, Ocean Wisdom debut LP, Chaos 93’ got released. On the same day it entered the iTunes album charts, entering at number 10. It was critically very well received , getting prices as Wordplay Magazine’s album of the year and was even seen as “A genre defining release”. Exactly 2 years and 1 day later, his second album Wizville got out, reaching the 39th place in the UK Album Charts. As his songs become better and better and his fame really starts to increase, this festival is your shot to see him before he becomes unreachable. He will be on stage on sunday 9th of September.
Another act you can’t miss out on is the performance of the 25-year old, British rapper Mist. The Birmingham born and raised rapper is part of a new,young and exciting generation of rappers to whom Ocean Wisdom also belongs. As many of the nowadays rappers, Mist started by putting his songs online on a YouTube channel called P110. At the beginning of 2016, he started to get some more (inter)national recognition, something that earned him a nomination for the Rated Award for Best Breakthrough. Later that year, he released his debut EP titled M I S to the T. On this EP we can find some of his top tracks like “Karla’s Back,” “Smokey,” “Hot Property” and “Ain’t The Same.” After all this hits Mist became a social media sensation, racking up more than 450,000 followers on Instagram. In February 2018, he released his second EP called “Diamond in the dirt”. We still got to wait for his first real studio album. Mist will be seeable on Friday 7th September, make sure to not miss him out!
- J Hus
If we talk about, young successful British rappers, J Hus must be on the list. Originally from Stratford, England, J Hus gained his fame by doing freestyles and posting them online. After some songs with little success, he released his first big hit “Dem Boy Paigon”, a song that came out in 2015 when he was only 18 years old. It was described like he had “brought together an Afro-beat sound with lyrical rap”. After some other successful singles such as “Lean and Bop” and “Friendly”, J Hus released his first studio album “Common Sense” in 2017. On this Album, that was well received by fans and experts , we can find “Did you see”; This song is claimed to be his best song so far and peaked 9th in the charts. In 2018, J Hus followed up with his first EP, Big Spang. Already quite famous, J Hus is one of the main acts of this year’s edition. Make sure to not miss him out when he appears on stage on Sunday 9th September.
- Johnny Osbourne
After all this young, talented rappers, it is time to introduce a legend. Johnny Osbourne is a Jamaican reggae artist born in 1948. He started his career in 1967 when he became the lead singer of the Wildcats. With this band he made his studio debut song “All I have is love”. In 1969 he came up with his solo album “Come back darling”. His major successes only came later, in the middle of the 1980’s. In 1983 he got his international breakthrough, with 3 mega hits; Yo yo, Lend me a chopper and Water pumping. This hits were the beginning of a very successful period where Osbourne got hit after hit. His songs were so popular that they got covered by numerous artists such as UB40 and Zero. Luckily for all those attending the Outlook festival, Osbourne doesn’t think about stopping performing soon. The legend will be at the festival on Thursday 6th September.
The 5th act is something completely different, it’s a band making Drum & Bass. Each one of the 6 members have had success on their own before teaming up. Now they’re putting all their tricks to the mix and it works ! SaSaSaS keeps on innovating by making all sorts of acts, 360°, on busses, … This creativity brings them to many festivals, you’re sure to have a good time going to their acts. 3 Young debut artist in 3 different genres. Mali Hayes has an unique groove in jazz.
Franko Fraize has an unusual beat and a great flow in rap.
Catila has a delicate voice and use it well in R&B/Soul songs.
